A few months ago, a doctor contacted us regarding a patient whose treatment had been delayed because essential laboratory tests had to be sent hundreds of kilometres away due to limited local diagnostic capacity. The patient waited several days for results that could have been available within hours if modern equipment had been accessible. Unfortunately, stories like this remain common in many communities. Healthcare professionals work tirelessly to provide quality care, but without reliable diagnostic services, even the most experienced doctors must often make difficult decisions with incomplete information.

PrecisionMed Diagnostics was established to provide accurate, timely, and affordable laboratory testing services that support better healthcare outcomes for individuals, hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, employers, and public health organisations. Our laboratory performs haematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, immunology, pathology support, hormone testing, infectious disease screening, wellness testing, occupational health assessments, and preventive health screening using internationally recognised quality standards. Every test we perform contributes to helping healthcare professionals make informed medical decisions with confidence.

My name is Tawanda Chikore, and before founding PrecisionMed Diagnostics, I spent more than fifteen years working as a medical laboratory scientist in both public and private healthcare institutions. Throughout my career, I repeatedly witnessed how delayed laboratory results affected patient care. In many cases, healthcare providers possessed the expertise to begin appropriate treatment immediately, but limited diagnostic capacity created unnecessary delays. Those experiences convinced me that strengthening laboratory infrastructure is one of the most effective ways to improve healthcare delivery throughout Zimbabwe.

Our laboratory began with a small team of highly committed professionals operating from a modest facility equipped to perform routine diagnostic testing. During those early months, every sample received our full attention because we understood that behind every laboratory request stood an individual, a family, or a healthcare provider depending on accurate information. We invested heavily in staff training, quality assurance, equipment calibration, and international laboratory best practices, knowing that trust is earned through consistency rather than promises.

Today, PrecisionMed Diagnostics serves hospitals, medical clinics, corporate organisations, insurance providers, pharmacies, and thousands of individual patients seeking reliable laboratory services. Our experienced laboratory scientists work closely with physicians to deliver accurate results within clinically appropriate timeframes while maintaining strict confidentiality, professional ethics, and internationally recognised quality control procedures. Many healthcare providers now rely on our laboratory as an extension of their own clinical teams because they know accuracy remains our highest priority.

One initiative that has become especially meaningful is our preventive health screening programme. However, our current diagnostic equipment limits both testing capacity and the range of services we can provide. Certain specialised tests still require referral to larger laboratories, delaying results for patients and reducing convenience for healthcare providers. Expanding our equipment capacity will allow us to deliver more comprehensive diagnostic services locally while maintaining the high standards our clients expect.

Our expansion strategy focuses on acquiring advanced automated laboratory analysers capable of processing significantly larger sample volumes with greater efficiency, precision, and reliability. Modern diagnostic equipment will improve turnaround times, expand available testing services, strengthen quality assurance, and support future growth without compromising accuracy.

Following extensive consultations with pathologists, laboratory specialists, biomedical engineers, healthcare administrators, physicians, equipment suppliers, and financial advisers, we developed a carefully planned equipment investment strategy that prioritises sustainable growth while maintaining the highest standards of laboratory quality. Every investment decision has been guided by one objective: improving patient care through better diagnostics.

We are seeking $9,850,000 to purchase advanced diagnostic laboratory equipment that will significantly expand PrecisionMed Diagnostics' testing capacity and improve healthcare services throughout Zimbabwe. Every dollar raised through this campaign will be invested directly into medical technology that enables faster, more accurate, and more comprehensive diagnostic testing.

The funds raised through this campaign will be used for the following:

• Purchase fully automated haematology analysers, clinical chemistry analysers, immunoassay systems, microbiology equipment, sample preparation technology, laboratory refrigeration systems, and specialised diagnostic instruments that increase testing capacity and improve analytical accuracy.

• Upgrade laboratory information systems, digital reporting platforms, barcode sample tracking technology, and secure data management infrastructure that improve operational efficiency and reduce reporting times.

• Expand specialised diagnostic services including hormone testing, infectious disease diagnostics, preventive health screening, occupational health assessments, and advanced laboratory investigations currently unavailable within our existing facility.

• Recruit additional laboratory scientists, biomedical technicians, quality assurance specialists, phlebotomists, customer service professionals, and logistics personnel to support expanded laboratory operations.

• Strengthen quality management programmes through additional calibration equipment, external proficiency testing, laboratory accreditation activities, and continuous professional development for our scientific staff.

• Improve patient experience by expanding sample collection facilities, reducing waiting times, strengthening home sample collection services, and increasing collaboration with hospitals and medical clinics throughout Zimbabwe.

• Expand community wellness programmes and preventive health screening initiatives that encourage earlier disease detection and healthier communities through accessible laboratory services.

The impact of this investment extends far beyond our laboratory.
