Eze Premium Cassava Processing Centre
Story
My name is Amara Eze, and I founded Eze Premium Cassava Processing Centre with a simple vision: to transform one of Nigeria's most abundant crops into high-quality food products while creating a reliable market for local farmers. I grew up in a farming community where cassava was harvested in large quantities every season, yet many farmers struggled to earn a decent income because they had limited access to processors who could buy their harvest consistently.
After completing my studies, I decided to return home instead of moving to the city. Using my family's savings and a small loan from relatives, I started processing cassava into garri and cassava flour using basic manual equipment. The business began with just four employees and a handful of farmers supplying fresh cassava roots every week.
Today, we work with more than eighty smallholder farmers who depend on us as a reliable buyer. Our products are sold in neighborhood markets, supermarkets, restaurants, and food distributors across our state. We have earned the trust of our customers by maintaining high quality standards, hygienic processing methods, and consistent packaging.
While demand for our products has grown significantly over the past two years, our production process has not kept pace. Most of our equipment is manually operated, making production slow and labor-intensive. During peak harvest seasons, we often cannot process cassava quickly enough before it begins to deteriorate. This results in avoidable waste, lower profits for farmers, and missed business opportunities for our company.
Several retailers have expressed interest in stocking our products in larger quantities, but we simply cannot produce enough to satisfy these requests. Instead of expanding our customer base, we find ourselves turning away orders because our current processing capacity has reached its limit.
Our goal is to modernize the processing facility with commercial equipment that will dramatically improve efficiency while maintaining the quality our customers have come to expect. Upgrading our equipment will increase daily production, reduce waste, lower operating costs, and allow us to purchase more cassava directly from local farmers.
We are seeking ₦12,000,000 to purchase modern cassava processing equipment and upgrade our production facility. This investment will allow us to meet growing demand while strengthening the livelihoods of the farming families who supply our business.
The funds will be used for the following:
Purchase a commercial cassava washing, peeling, and grating system.
Install modern hydraulic pressing and drying equipment.
Acquire automated packaging and sealing machines.
Upgrade electrical installations and production space.
Purchase quality control and food safety equipment.
Train employees on operating and maintaining the new machinery.
With this investment, we expect to more than double our production capacity while significantly reducing product waste. We will also purchase more cassava from local farmers, creating a stronger agricultural value chain that benefits hundreds of families throughout our region.
Every contribution helps us build a stronger local manufacturing business that supports agriculture, creates employment, and produces quality Nigerian food products. Thank you for believing in our vision and becoming part of our journey.
