Expanding Fresh Egg Production to Feed More South African Families

Three years ago, I started a small poultry farm with a vision of supplying affordable, high-quality fresh eggs to households, schools, supermarkets, and local businesses across my community. What began with a few hundred laying hens has grown into a trusted local business known for reliable deliveries and consistently fresh produce.

Demand for our eggs has increased significantly over the past year, and we are now unable to meet orders from several retailers and wholesalers. Rather than turning customers away, we want to expand our production capacity and create a more efficient operation that can serve more families while keeping prices competitive.

We are seeking R950,000 in working capital to scale our egg production. The funds will enable us to construct additional poultry houses, purchase 3,000 healthy layer chicks, install automated feeding systems to improve efficiency and reduce waste, and secure enough quality feed to support the flock during the critical growth and production stages.

This investment will help us:
