Story

On one particularly busy afternoon, a mother arrived at our clinic carrying her two-year-old daughter who had been running a high fever since the previous night. The child required immediate laboratory tests before treatment could begin, but our laboratory equipment could only perform a limited number of diagnostic procedures. We had to refer them to another medical facility several kilometres away, delaying the treatment they urgently needed. Fortunately, the child recovered, but that experience reminded our entire team that access to quality healthcare depends not only on dedicated professionals but also on having the right medical equipment available when patients need it most.

CarePoint Community Clinics was established to provide affordable, accessible, and high-quality primary healthcare services for families living in both urban and underserved communities across Kenya. Our clinics offer general outpatient consultations, maternal and child healthcare, laboratory diagnostics, chronic disease management, vaccination services, pharmacy support, preventive health screening, minor procedures, occupational health services, and community health education. We believe every family deserves dependable healthcare delivered with dignity, compassion, and professional excellence regardless of income or location.

I am Faith Njeri, a registered medical practitioner who has spent more than fourteen years working in both public hospitals and private healthcare facilities. Throughout my career, I witnessed many preventable health complications simply because patients could not access timely diagnosis or affordable treatment. Long waiting times, overcrowded hospitals, limited diagnostic equipment, and the high cost of specialised medical services frequently discouraged families from seeking care early. Those experiences inspired me to establish community clinics focused on preventive medicine, early diagnosis, and patient-centred healthcare delivered close to where people live and work.

When we opened our first clinic, we operated with only a handful of consultation rooms, a small pharmacy, a basic laboratory, and an incredibly committed team of healthcare professionals. Every patient mattered. We invested time listening carefully, explaining treatment plans clearly, and following up with patients after consultations because we believed healthcare should be built on trust rather than speed alone. Word gradually spread throughout the community, and more families began choosing our clinic because they appreciated both the quality of care and the respect with which they were treated.

Over the years, CarePoint Community Clinics has grown into a trusted healthcare provider serving children, expectant mothers, working professionals, elderly patients, and individuals managing long-term medical conditions. Our healthcare team includes doctors, nurses, laboratory technologists, pharmacists, nutritionists, counsellors, and administrative professionals who work together to ensure patients receive comprehensive care under one roof whenever possible. We also organise regular medical outreach programmes that provide free health screenings, blood pressure checks, diabetes education, maternal health awareness, and vaccination campaigns within surrounding communities.

One of the initiatives we value most is our partnership with local schools, where we conduct routine health education sessions covering nutrition, hygiene, adolescent health, mental wellbeing, and disease prevention. We believe healthier communities begin with education, and helping young people understand preventive healthcare creates lifelong benefits for individuals, families, and society as a whole.

Despite growing demand for our services, our greatest limitation today is the availability of modern diagnostic and clinical equipment. Many patients require imaging services, expanded laboratory investigations, cardiac monitoring, and specialised diagnostic procedures that our current equipment cannot fully support. While we continue referring patients to larger hospitals when necessary, every referral increases costs, delays treatment, and places additional stress on families already facing medical challenges.

We also intend to expand our maternal healthcare services, chronic disease management programmes, preventive screening initiatives, and telemedicine consultations. Achieving these goals requires significant investment in modern medical equipment that improves diagnostic accuracy, enhances patient safety, and allows our clinical teams to deliver more comprehensive care within our own facilities.

Following consultations with healthcare specialists, biomedical engineers, hospital administrators, public health experts, and medical equipment suppliers, we developed an expansion plan centred on upgrading our diagnostic capabilities before opening additional clinic locations. By strengthening the quality of care within our existing facilities, we can improve health outcomes for thousands more patients while maintaining the personalised approach that defines our organisation.

We are seeking KSh 22,800,000 to purchase modern medical equipment that will significantly expand the clinical capabilities of CarePoint Community Clinics. Every shilling raised through this campaign will be invested directly into diagnostic technology, patient care equipment, and healthcare infrastructure that enables our medical professionals to provide faster, safer, and more accurate treatment for the communities we proudly serve.

The funds raised through this campaign will be used for the following:

  • Purchase modern ultrasound systems, digital X-ray equipment, laboratory analysers, patient monitoring devices, ECG machines, emergency care equipment, and diagnostic technology that improves clinical decision-making and patient outcomes.

  • Upgrade laboratory facilities with advanced testing equipment capable of supporting faster and more accurate diagnosis for infectious diseases, chronic illnesses, maternal health, and routine medical investigations.

  • Expand maternal and child healthcare services through specialised obstetric equipment, neonatal monitoring devices, and improved prenatal screening capabilities.

  • Recruit additional laboratory technologists, radiographers, nurses, biomedical technicians, and specialist clinicians who will strengthen service delivery across our growing patient population.

  • Improve preventive health programmes by introducing comprehensive health screening packages that support early detection of hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and other chronic conditions.

  • Strengthen digital patient record systems and telemedicine infrastructure that improve continuity of care, specialist consultations, and long-term patient follow-up.

  • Expand community outreach programmes by equipping mobile medical teams with portable diagnostic equipment for health campaigns conducted in schools, workplaces, and underserved communities.

The impact of this investment extends far beyond our clinics. Earlier diagnosis leads to better treatment outcomes, healthier families, lower long-term healthcare costs, and stronger communities. Every new piece of equipment improves our ability to serve children, expectant mothers, elderly patients, and working families who deserve access to dependable healthcare without travelling long distances or facing unnecessary delays.

Our long-term vision is to establish CarePoint Community Clinics as one of Kenya's leading networks of community healthcare providers, recognised for clinical excellence, compassionate service, modern medical technology, and meaningful contributions to preventive healthcare. We believe healthcare should be proactive rather than reactive, helping people live healthier lives rather than simply treating illness after it occurs.

Reflecting on our journey, it is remarkable to remember that everything began with a small clinic, a dedicated medical team, and a shared commitment to serving our community with compassion and professionalism. Every patient who trusted us with their care, every healthcare worker who devoted their expertise, every partner who supported our mission, and every family who recommended our services has contributed to the organisation we proudly continue building today.

Your support for this campaign represents much more than purchasing medical equipment. You are investing in healthier families, stronger communities, better patient outcomes, preventive healthcare, medical innovation, and a Kenyan healthcare organisation committed to providing compassionate, high-quality medical services for generations to come. Together, we can ensure that more patients receive the timely diagnosis and quality treatment they deserve.

On behalf of our doctors, nurses, laboratory professionals, administrative staff, community partners, patients, employees, and families, thank you for taking the time to read our story. We sincerely appreciate your confidence, encouragement, and support. We would be honoured to have you become part of the next chapter of CarePoint Community Clinics.
